RUBBER POWDER

Rubber powder from Genan is sustainably recycled rubber powder with particles < 1 mm.

Genan rubber powder can be added to compounds used for the production of many different products. The Genan technology results in the production of very fine rubber powder – through ambient granulation as well as with cryogenic milling.

For both ambient powders (rubber powders produced at room temperature) and cryogenic powders (micronised rubbers powders manufactured in a cryogenic milling process), we use a mix of passenger car tyres, truck tyres and off-the-road (OTR) tyres as feedstock.

COUNTLESS APPLICATIONS

Genan rubber powder can be used for numerous different applications. Manufacturers of rubber products can substitute a percentage of the virgin rubber used in their rubber compounds with cost-saving rubber powder made from recycled end-of-life tyres – thus adding an element of sustainability to their production.

RUBBER POWDER FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION

For road construction, Genan offers an elastomer bitumen and asphalt modifier called GENAN ROAD+ PREMIXED. This product consists of both rubber powder, GENAN FINE POWDER, and a special elastomer, Vestenamer®.

GENAN ROAD+ PREMIXED is used for the rubber modification of asphalt and bitumen in road construction – as well as for roofing purposes.

GENAN AMBIENT RUBBER POWDER

Genan rubber powder is produced through Genan’s traditional, ambient process technology, where tyre rubber is mechanically shredded and granulated. Genan offers three types of ambiently produced rubber powder – with different particle size distributions.

GENAN MICRONISED RUBBER POWDER

With Genan’s cryogenic process technology, liquid nitrogen is used to freeze rubber granulate to a temperature so low that milling results in a fine rubber powder. This gives a particle surface much smoother than that achieved with ambient technology. Cryogenically milled / micronised powder is available in sizes smaller than 40 mesh (ASTM) or 425 microns.
